Garden Lime

Garden Lime is a natural soil amendment made from crushed limestone that corrects acidic soil by raising pH to optimal levels.

Make soil acidity a measured part of your garden decisions. Garden Lime is a limestone amendment intended to raise pH, giving it a very different purpose from a general plant feed. Check your soil's condition and the needs of the plants you are growing before using the application guidance to plan treatment.

How to use

Test your soil to determine the current pH level and the amount of lime required (soil testing kits are available at garden centres).
Prepare the area by removing weeds and debris. For best results, till or loosen the soil to a depth of about 15cm (6 inches).
Spread the recommended amount of garden lime evenly over the soil surface. Use a spreader for larger areas to ensure even coverage.
Water the soil thoroughly after application to help the lime soak into the soil. Allow 4-6 weeks for garden lime to take full effect before testing soil pH again or planting sensitive crops.
