Leca Expanded Clay

Leca Expanded Clay is a lightweight growing medium made from baked clay pellets, offering a porous structure that lets excess water drain away while air circulates around roots.

Explore a growing medium built around the spaces between porous clay pellets. Leca Expanded Clay provides drainage and air circulation, giving it a distinct physical structure compared with fine-textured soil. Choose it for the growing method described in the product instructions, and plan plant support, watering and feeding around that method.

How to use

Wash the Leca thoroughly under running water to remove any dust or debris before use.
For semi-hydroponic growing: Carefully remove your plant from soil, trim any excessive or damaged roots, and gently wash the roots clean of all soil.
Fill about one-third of your pot (with no drainage holes, or use a cache pot system) with compacted Leca. Position your plant and fill around the roots with more Leca.
Add water to just below the level of the Leca (to prevent mosquito breeding). Top up water as the level drops. For best results, periodically spray plants with Serbajadi Growth Master FS35 Instant Foliar Spray or add liquid fertiliser to the water reservoir.
