Froggy, your Nature Squad guide

Sunlight warms water in puddles, soil, rivers and leaves. Some water changes into invisible water vapour and moves into the air.

Higher up, water vapour cools and forms tiny droplets. Many droplets together make clouds.

When droplets grow large enough, water falls as rain. Some soaks into soil, where roots can take it in; some runs into drains and waterways.

Try it: with an adult, mark a shallow rain container and compare its level on two days. Empty and clean it afterwards so it does not collect mosquitoes.
