Nature Observation Collage
Arrange safe fallen garden finds into a picture that tells a nature story.
- Ages 6–12
- Difficulty 1 of 3
- About 30 minutes
- Home or school
You will need
- fallen leaves and twigs approved by a grown-up
- reused card
- child-safe glue stick
- pencil or crayons
- paper for plant labels
- Ask a grown-up where collecting fallen materials is allowed. Leave living flowers and wildlife in place.
- Sort the finds by shape, size or texture. Put unknown berries and mushrooms aside without touching them.
- Plan a simple garden scene on reused card before gluing anything.
- Glue the dry, safe finds into your picture and let it dry.
- Add three labels: something that grew, something that fell and something a garden helper could use.
- Tell a grown-up what changed in each material after it fell from the plant.
